The Ex-Yu Rock Centar celebrates the vibrant rock and roll legacy of the former Yugoslavia, showcasing exhibitions filled with original memorabilia from countless iconic bands and artists. Run by the non-profit “Ex-Yu Rock Society,” the museum preserves not just the music, but the cultural spirit and creative energy that defined generations across the region.

I had known Will from previous collaborations, and our communication always flowed naturally. When he reached out about designing a conceptual brochure, the Ex-Yu Rock Centar was still just a dream taking shape. As we laid out his ideas across those first pages, I began to see the depth of what this project could mean for the Balkans. For so many of us, rock music has been more than sound: it’s been guidance, expression, and a spark of hope through uncertain times. I’m deeply grateful to have been part of this journey from the very beginning, helping give visual form to Ex-Yu Rock Centar, inspired by the bold spirit and timeless graphic language of Yugoslavian rock design.

They needed a way to give form to something that did not yet exist, to spark curiosity and invite the viewer to imagine what it could become. And it worked. Ex-Yu Rock Centar has now grown into a vibrant space where visitors can explore, listen to live music, enjoy great coffee or a drink, and discover a small shop filled with unique items to take home, all adding new layers to the exhibition experience.
